Abby‘s research focuses on the role of signaling pathways in metabolic regulation. Transcriptional regulation results in altered levels of many metabolic enzymes in cancer. Signaling and post-translational modification provide an additional layer of regulation that allows cells to quickly respond to changes in the environment.
Prior to starting her graduate work, Abby spent two years working in Siavash Kurdistani's lab at UCLA examining the mechanisms that maintain global levels of histone modifications. She also conducted undergraduate research under the mentorship of Steven Clarke and spent a summer at Harvard in Dr. Gavin MacBeath's lab.
